This Privacy Policy explains how itsajeepthingstupid.com ("the Site," "we," "us") handles information when you visit. We built this site to give Jeep Wrangler owners straight-talk repair and mod guides, not to collect more data than we need to run it.
Information We Collect
We do not require you to create an account or submit personal information to read the guides on this site. Information we may collect includes:
- Usage data: Like most websites, we may use analytics tools and Cloudflare's hosting/CDN infrastructure, which automatically log standard technical information such as your browser type, general location (derived from IP address), pages visited, and time spent on the Site.
- Cookies: The Site may use cookies from analytics providers and, where applicable, advertising partners (see "Advertising" below) to understand how the Site is used and to serve relevant ads. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect some site features.
- Information you provide directly: If you email us at [email protected], we'll have whatever information you choose to include in that message (your email address and message content).
Advertising
This Site may display advertising served by third-party networks, including Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
Affiliate Links
This Site participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and may link to products on Gumroad. When you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details. Amazon and other retailers have their own privacy policies governing data collected through their sites.
Pinterest API Data
We operate a small internal tool that connects to the Pinterest API. It is used only by the owner of this Site, for the owner's own Pinterest account ("Daily Amazon Finds"). It is not offered to the public and has no other users.
- How access works: The tool connects only through Pinterest's official OAuth authorization. We never ask for, collect, or store Pinterest passwords or session cookies.
- What it reads: With the account owner's authorization, the tool reads the owner's own boards, Pins, basic account profile, and Pin analytics (such as impressions, saves, and outbound clicks). It does not read other Pinners' accounts.
- How it is used: Solely to help the Site owner plan content for the owner's own account and this Site, for example deciding which guides or boards need new Pins. Every Pin is chosen and published by a human; the tool does not pin, follow, comment, or message automatically.
- Not sold or shared: Pinterest API data is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party, including advertising services, and is not combined with data from other Pinterest accounts.
- Retention: Data is requested live from the API when needed and held only in memory or a short-lived cache while being processed. Any temporary copy is deleted within 24 hours. We do not build a long-term database of Pinterest data.
- Revoking access: Access can be revoked at any time from your Pinterest account settings under Security and logins / Apps (connected apps). Once revoked, the tool can no longer read any data.
- Deletion requests: To ask that any Pinterest-related data be deleted, email [email protected]. We will confirm deletion within 30 days.
How We Use Information
Any information collected is used to operate and improve the Site, understand which guides are useful to readers, respond to inquiries sent to us directly, and (where applicable) serve relevant advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-Party Services
The Site is hosted on Netlify and its source is managed via GitHub. Purchases of digital products (such as printable checklists) are processed entirely by Gumroad, which has its own privacy policy and handles all payment information — we never see or store your payment details.
Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of personalized ads through the link above. If you'd like to ask what information we hold about an inquiry you sent us, email us and we'll do our best to help.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
