Mopar 68524201AA is the current factory front track bar for the JL Wrangler. JLs started with 68317849AA. That was replaced by 68394087AA, an update JL owners discussed as having stiffer bushings to help with steering complaints, and later by 68524201AA. If your JL still has an early bar and wanders or shimmies, this is one of the first parts to look at.
Fitment
2018-and-later Wrangler JL, per Mopar's eStore listing. Always confirm the number on your old part or run your VIN at a Mopar parts counter before you order.
Common failure symptoms
- Wander or vague steering on the highway
- Shimmy or front-end vibration, including death wobble-style shake after bumps
- Clunk from the front axle over bumps

Rebuild, repair or replace?
Replace rather than rebuild. Rule out the cheaper causes first: tires out of balance or with a shifted belt are the top source of JL front-end vibration complaints. Check the steering damper, too. If the track bar has play at either end or your JL still has the original bar, the current Mopar bar is a direct replacement at stock height. Lifted JLs generally need an adjustable bar to keep the axle centered.
Early 2018–2019 JLs were also part of a 2018 recall for front track bar bracket welds. Run your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm that work was done before you blame the bar.
FAQ
Is my JL's original track bar the bad one?
The original was 68317849AA and has been superseded twice. If yours has play or your JL wanders, the current bar is a reasonable fix.
Does the 2018 track bar recall replace the bar?
That recall was about bracket welds on early JLs. Check your VIN at NHTSA.
Does this fit the JK?
No. The JK uses Mopar 52059982AG.
