Mopar 68191349AC (MO-349) is the cartridge oil filter for the 3.6 Pentastar's flat-bottom filter housing. It includes the O-ring. It's the most-bought part on this list, and the most common mistake is putting the wrong style of filter in an early 2012–2013 JK, or the old style into a housing that's been converted.
Fitment
2014–2018 JK 3.6 and 2018-and-later JL/Gladiator 3.6, per Mopar dealer listings. 2012–2013 JKs use the nipple-style MO-744 unless the housing was converted. Always confirm the number on your old part or run your VIN at a Mopar parts counter before you order.
Common failure symptoms
- Routine oil change is due
- Code P06DD after a filter change (wrong filter style can hold the bypass open)
- Oil seeping at the filter cap (old O-ring reused or cap over-torqued)
- Recently installed an aluminum Dorman 926-959 housing

Rebuild, repair or replace?
Filters are single-use, so replace one at every oil change. Use the new O-ring and torque the cap to 18 ft-lbs (our oil cooler guide has the source). Over-tightening is how the plastic housings crack. If a 2012–2013 JK had its housing replaced with the 2014+ design (Dorman 926-959 or the latest Mopar), use this filter from then on and throw out any nipple-style filters.
