The front wheel speed sensor tells the ABS module how fast each front wheel is turning. On JKs it lives at the hub, where mud, rust and lift-kit stretching take a toll. It is one of the cheapest parts in the ABS system and one of the most common reasons the ABS and traction lights come on, so it is worth checking before anything expensive.

Fitment

2007–2017 Wrangler and 2018 Wrangler JK, front left or right (Dorman's 695-900 catalog listing). One part fits either side. Always confirm the number on your old part or run your VIN at a Mopar parts counter before you order.

Rebuild, repair or replace?

There's nothing to rebuild here; replace it. Read the codes first. If the fault names a specific front wheel, swap that sensor and inspect the harness along the knuckle and frame rail while you're there. Lifted JKs often stretch this harness at full droop, so re-route or extend it rather than just bolting in a new sensor. If the lights stay on with good sensors and a clean harness, move on to the module connector and power and ground checks covered in the ABS module guide.

FAQ

Is the front sensor the same on both sides?

Dorman lists the 695-900 for front left or right on 2007–2018 JKs. Confirm your year in the fit tool before ordering.

Do I need to program a new sensor?

No. Wheel speed sensors are plug-in parts. Clear the codes after install and drive to confirm the lights stay off.

Does this fit a JL?

No. The JL front sensor is a different Mopar number (68394210 series).
