The steering stabilizer is a sideways shock between the JK's axle and tie rod. It soaks up the small kicks big tires and rough roads send to the wheel. Mopar 52060058AF is the factory unit. It can't fix death wobble on its own, and a fresh one can hide the real cause for a while.
Fitment
2007–2018 Wrangler JK, per Northridge4x4's Mopar listing. Some aftermarket catalogs also list 52060058AE and 52060059AE for JK applications. Always confirm the number on your old part or run your VIN at a Mopar parts counter before you order.
Common failure symptoms
- Oil leaking from the stabilizer body
- Steering kicks over bumps that it didn't used to have
- Bent shaft or torn bushings, common on lifted JKs that see rocks
- New wheel shimmy after going up a tire size

Rebuild, repair or replace?
Stabilizers are sealed and get replaced, not rebuilt. The order of work matters: fix the mechanical cause of any wobble first (track bar bolt and bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, caster), confirm it's gone, then replace the stabilizer. On a stock or mildly lifted JK on 33s, a single factory-style unit is the simple fix. Bigger tires and lifts are where upgraded single or dual aftermarket stabilizers come in, covered in our stabilizer guide.
FAQ
Will a new stabilizer stop death wobble?
No. It can mask it for a while, but the cause is usually the track bar, tie rods, ball joints or alignment.
Single or dual?
Single is right for most daily drivers. Dual kits suit bigger tires and heavier setups.
Does this fit the JL?
No. The JL/JT damper is Mopar 68624105AB.
